Today’s jargon:
‘SEO‘
…or ‘Search Engine Optimisation‘.
For many small charities, it’s one of the most intimidating topics in digital communications.
But at its heart, SEO is simply about helping people find you when they’re looking for information, services or support.
The good news is that most charities don’t need complicated SEO strategies (or expensive SEO ‘experts’).
They need clear information and a website that’s easy to understand.
Today’s triage recommendation
Stop worrying about SEO tricks and ‘expert’ advice.
Focus on creating useful, accurate information that answers the questions people are actually asking.
Search engines have become incredibly good at recognising genuinely helpful content.
Five-minute website check
Search for your organisation online.
Can somebody quickly find:
- your website?
- your current services?
- your contact details?
- ways to support you?
If not, that may be a more important SEO issue than keywords or rankings.
If you’d like another pair of eyes on it, share your website with me and I’ll tell you the one thing I’d prioritise first.
